Ruff-and-Tuff, All American, Rock and Roll Rebellion

Drawing inspiration from film and music videos, America and fashion have been long-avid lovers of the rock and roll, teenage rebellion looked by leather jackets, a bold red lip, studs, chains, neck scarves, and mixage of vintage prints and pastel colors. This pairing of retro meets renegade is an inspiration many designers and magazines have drawn from. It makes me want to don a black lace tank and channel Madonna from Desperately Seeking Susan by writing random notes in the newspaper and go off on some grand adventure chasing a musician. Alas, my creative fantasies are still kept hidden within the walls of my brain as I cram essays on Mesopotamian civilizations and notes on cell nuclei into my overwhelming schedule as a dutiful college student. Maybe someday soon I'll hit the road on the back of a Harley decked out in a Pyramid Symbol adorned jacket and James Dean-esque sunglasses. Maybe....just maybe.

Celeb Style Files: That Girl From the British Movie about Paris, College, and Older Men

In order to pay homage to some of my favorite style stars of the silver screen and music scene I have decided to start a post theme entitled "Celeb Style Files" of which I am obviously focusing on somebody's famous look.

Today Is the lovely and talented Carey Mulligan from such films as "Wall Street 2" and "An Education". Her antiquated yet modern look is admired by many as a fashion fore-runner of her day. And, I've got to say that she is partly to thank for the current pixie-cut hairstyle trend sweeping through Hollywood soon after she chopped her locks (yes, I'm calling you out Emma Watson and Mia Wasikowska). Take a look at some of my personal favorite looks from Carey...

If you want to buy a bag designed by Victoria Beckham, and you have $14,000 to spare, you're too late.

The celeb designer launched a collection of chic, structured handbags on Net-a-Porter's international site in December and a $13,950 crocodile design sold out within the hour. When the same bag debuted on the retailer's US site today, it was long gone by early afternoon.

But hope is not lost. You can always add the super luxe accessory to your "wish list" on the site and wait for more to become available (no word yet on when that will be) or join the 23,000 people who "Like" Beckham's bazillion dollar bag on Facebook.

Disney: Day 2...still standing out for all the fashionably right reasons

What do you wear to the happiest place on earth? Why Rodarte and a beret of course!

Only me, Korina, would dress like this at at day at Epcot Disneyworld. I revel in the rebellion of acceptable attire tshirt and shorts combo.

Blouse: Navy Blue lace by Rodarte
Jacket: Belted khaki from JC Penny
Skirt: Denim from Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker
Hat: Black beret (Bought at now forgotten Nashvill Botique)
Earrings: White and gold striped hoops from Dana Buchman
Purse: Vintage (made of antique telephone cables...how appropriate)
Shoes: Brown gladiators from JC Penny

Sometimes I see past the horizon, sure of my way where I am going...
