So, lately I've been really inspired by colored hair from some of my favorite films "Ghost World" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and of course by our reigning supreme international pop wonder Lady Gaga. Previously I had bleached my hair and accented the tips with a lime green over the summer but my bleach high was short-lived. I wanted to go bigger, bolder, and definitely more extreme. So, I decided to take my recently dyed mahogany brown and bleach and dye it with Splat's Blue Envy. The result was quite surprising yet original.
I left some of my part the bleached blonde but funny enough some of my hair turned a gem purple. The final result: a blueish/purple/blonde Kool-Aide mix of colors that my friend Meagan describes as "A surrealist painting a' la' Picasso." This compliment totally made my day. Here I model my hair with a Jeremy Scott sweater.

Ma New Kicks
After a much needed vacation in Miami and lots of spending splurges, I am now the proud owner of these lovely Vivienne Westwood jelly heels. I like to call them my Cinderella shoes because they make me feel like a princess which is fitting since I head off to Disneyworld tomorrow morning. Maybe they will help me find my prince charming? I will post pictures of the fabulous Jeremy Scott sweater I picked up at Base on Lincoln Road during my trip soon.

My Semi-Problematic Addiction
Okay, so I have to admit that I have addiction problem. Shoes. Shoes are my weakness and I collect them like some people chose to collect stamps. To me they are wearable pieces of art that I cannot get enough of. Just recently, I bought four pairs of shoes within two days. Enough said. Here are my latest adds to my collection, all boots which I'm obsessed with lately even though it's summer. A slave to fashion, I remain.

Are You A Good Swan or a Bad One?
If you haven't seen Black Swan yet get your couture-adoring ass to your nearest movie theatre now to experience some truly mesmerizing cinematic eye candy courtesy of Rodarte. The cotton candy-esque tutus are to die for and the feathers! Ooooooh the feathers in every color, shape, size, and length adorning the costumes like apples on a tree of fashion goodness.
What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful...Individuality Should Always Be "In"
It seems like the "rage" of today and top-selling trend is standing for up what you believe and letting your "freak flag fly". This is fine and dandy but I feel "individuality" has always been, and should always be, "in". Everyone keeps jumping on the bandwagon like its some sort of fad like a monogrammed handbag or silly band.
Gay best friends are treated like a designer watch or accessory instead of the individuals they are and who have struggled to become. It's now "cool" to befriend and accept the unusual when we should love each other because of our differences, not based on whether or not its the popular thing to do. We all should seek to understand the underdog whether that person be a friend, acquaintance, or even ourself. Most importantly, seek to rebel, push boundaries, and live beyond the limits that society sets as acceptable. By all means....be revolutionary.
Here are some flashbacks of hodge-podge groups of individuals and true examples of underdogs, melting pots, and more. Here are pics from The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Mia from The Princess Diaries, Katy Perry's Firework, and Pink from her music video Don't Let Me Get Me.
