When times get tough and I'm feelin low I look to you for a smile...
Positively one of the most prolific quotes I've read in awhile...
"Your task is not to seek love, but merely to seek & find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." - RUMI

You Can Quote Me...
This was the fortune from my cookie that came with my pepper steak and pork fried rice so I thought it was only fitting that I should post...
"Whether you think you can or you can't you're right."

I think I should start being somewhat philosophical without wearing a boring overcoat...
One of my favorite things to collect is quotes. I know weird, eccentric, and clearly far from being tangable but they serve as great inspiration and are ever-so thought-provoking. So I have decided to do a quote of the day starting...well today! So here it is the first one (but let it not have the bragging rights of being first because quotes will be posted in no order of importance or favoritism).
"This morning a bird woke me up. It was a lark, or a peacock; something like that. So I said hello. And it vanished, flew away, the very moment I said hello! It was quite mysterious. So do you know what I did? I went to my mirror and brushed my hair two hundred times, without stopping. And as i was brushing it, my hair turned mauve. No, honestly! Mauve! Then red. then some sort of a deep blue when the sun hit it.... I'm sixteen years old, and every day something happens to me. i don't know what to make of it. When i get up in the morning and get dressed, I can tell...something's different. I like to touch my eyelids, because they're never quite the same. oh, oh, oh! I hug myself till my arms turn blue, then I close my eyes and cry and cry till the tears come down and I can taste them. I love to taste my tears. I am special. I am special! Please god, please, don't let me be normal! " - Luisa's Monologue from The Fantastiks

In love with Love
Okay so I'm officially enthralled with Pamela Love, famed New York jewelry designer who has graced the pages of Vogue more times than I can count. Her nature inspired cuffs, bangles, earrings, and more are artistically beautiful and truely works of wearable art. She's definately a fashion hero in my book and I take great pride in following her sure to be her phenomenally successful rise to fashion fame.
It's Coming Soon...
So I've finally had some free time in my somewhat-hectic schedule to start making accessories and clothes again and I hope to start selling my wares online soon. They range from edgy-modern to classic shabby chic fairytale (they couldn't be further apart...agreed?). Keep posted to find out all the deets!

Feeling Quirky and Nerd-Chic
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings...
My love of aviary-inspired fashion pieces gave me no choice but to buy this dandy necklace pendant which will nonetheless cause me a severe neck strain due to the weight but I shall look glamous while doing so. You can actually see the tiny bird within the cage. Now my next challenge is finding the perfect chain. Suggestions?

Watching Daisies
Okay, so for the longest time I've been wanting to watch "Pushing Daisies" because of the huge buzz that surrounded the show during and after its short-lived two seasons (after which it was unfortunately cancelled) and also for the fact that my favorite actress *slash* Broadway superstar Tony-winner *slash* Emmy winner (for her role on the show) Kristin Chenoweth. Not to mention that the super cute and charming Lee Pace starred as Ned aka the Pie Maker. So, I logged into neflix the other day to surprisingly find that all the episodes of Pushing Daisies (from both seasons) were available to instantly watch on my computer. Having nothing else better to do, I pressed play on episode #1. It was love at first click. Currently I'm on episode #7 aka "Smell of Success" and I'm completely 100% addicted to these charming, endearing, whimsicle, fairytale-esque comedy drama that doesn't take death so seriously as saaaaaaaayyy "Criminal Minds", or any other television crime drama for that matter? Not to mention there are lots of yummy screen shots of delicious pies. The sets are dramatic and theatrical to say the least, which I looooove. Also, the amazingly outstanding (can I use such words?) Ellen Green (most famously known as Audrey from the cult film classic "Little Shop of Horrors", another awesome movie) stars as one of the aunts. And, can I mention how awesome it is that the girl/love interest has the name Chuck. I just think that it's awesome that the girl has a guy name......maybe I'm just weird like that. Oh, wait.........I already knew that lol! Anyways, sooooooo excited to watch the rest of the episodes and sad at the same time that there are only two seasons. Oh well, all good things do come to an end. AND! ALmost forgot, I looooove the fashions from the film as well! Chuck has that awesome vintage 50's or 60's vibe with the flair skirts, floral prints, and bold colors as well as the sun hats and cat-eye sunglasses as well as penny-loafers. Here are some pics.....Enjoy
Fashion-mentaries
Not only do I love looking through magazines for style inspiration and the pure joy of "Page Shopping" for dream items but I love, love, love watching fashion documentaries. My two favorites are "Valentino: The Last Emperor" and "Unzipped" which is all about legendary designer Isaac Mizrahi. Both are incredibly entertaining and inspiring as well as just plain fun. They delve deep into the workings of a real fashion house, the creation of a line, the behind the scenes work, private lives of the designers and much more. I suggest checking these out to feed that couture appetite of yours. Be sure not to miss these captivating films.

TEEN VOGUE CONTEST!
Okay, so this would be my dream come true! Teen Vogue has come out with their yearly "win a photoshoot and get to go to New York and appear in Teen Vogue magazine which basically only celebrities get to do" contest. So, this is is my first year entering (thank goodness the site finally accepted my photo). I'm really really really hoping to win (just like the other billion girls and occasional guys who entered). Here is the link to my photo so feel free to comment and keep me in mind if I'm chosen for the top ten finalists (keeping my fingers crossed). Thanks!

Why Hello Dolly!
Okay, so I'm really really really obsessed with technicolor Musicals. My most favorite is none other than "Hello Dolly!" starring the infamous, amazing Barbra Streisand and directed by the late great equally amazing Gene Kelly. Okay, I'll stop gushing. But seriously! The cinematography (did I spell that right?)is simply stunning and the costuming! Oh, the costuming! Let me die in feather/boa/sequin/chiffon/lace/millinary heaven! I simply adore each and every one of Barbra's dresses. Here are some pictures from the film including the white wedding dress from the finale, the infamous "Hello Dolly main song" gold dress with hair feathers, and then some other favorites.

Carved Leather is in -- And this is the #1 Reason!
Blingin Bags - By Judith Leiber
Soooooo I'm really really obsessed with anything unique! Handbags, jewelry, shoes, you name it! Anything unusual that is different enough that only a few people have yet safe enough to still be called stylish. Anyways, here are some freakin fabulous handbags courtesy of designer Judith Leiber. By far, the cupcake is the most inconic because of its prominent "fashion Cameo" in the first Sex in the City film (If only I had $4,295.00 to blow on this bag). Anyways, enjoy all of the shiny amazing-ness.

Vacay in South Beach
Soooooo..... this is like from forever ago but these are pics from when I went to South Beach. Had soooooooo much fun there from the shopping to eating Gelato. Also, it was pretty awesome spotting Chris Garver from Miami Ink outside his shop. It was too busy though to get a good picture. So here are the pics I did take. Enjoy!
